SIMC - Lavale

We live in a "Knowledge Village" an hour away from the city of Pune. To reach here all you would need to do is catch a bus from Senapati Bapat Road( if you are familiar with Pune), Symbiosis campus, at 9a.m., 1p.m., 5p.m., or 9p.m. We promise you a roller coaster ride full of bumps and jumps until you reach our campus. (Warning: It wouldn't end there!!)

Lavale is a town in itself, where we the SIMCians( Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication) have been living for the past 4 months. The campus is spread over an area of 300 acres and goes beyond the eye's view. We have it all here: library, seminar halls, screening halls, AV studios, sound studio, photography lab, computer lab, editing suites, set design workplace, student activity zones and sports and health complex, and to see how well they function you would have to visit our campus (ahem ahem!!)

Being in Lavale is an adventure in itself, where apart from academics there is a lot more that one gets to do. For the "lot more" well comments from all the SIMCians are welcome. I am sure each one of us would have something interesting to narrate ;). Comments from non-SIMCians and there take on this would also be appreciated.

hhmmm... rightly said... What, according to me, is an integral part of Lavale village is the huge family of dogs and the even larger number of mommies and daddies that the pups have now. Don't you think? If nothing, SIMC Lavale has at least brought us closer to nature, in every form and way.

Our stay at Lavale is an experience in itself...Its amazing to see the sunrise and the sunset here everyday...going out for evening tea with friends at the mess...sitting at the canteen with friends and eating maggie as our daily meals...sitting with friends outside the coffee place and discussing life...all these have become an integral part of all our lives...and I think I will miss all these after a few months when all of us will begin a new life...

La Vale..Lovele?? Lavde(marathi word, aint it)??Or is it Lav Alley with the different lingual and cultural connotations it carries with it.. So thts where begins the confusion..getting the pronounciation just right!!
Ofcourse, thts only the begginning, till u actually figure out wht life is on a residential campus..An experience for sure...and ofcourse being a Symbi campus..only makes it special in its own way..(*wink)!
The place i like is for its sunsets..the amphitheatre, the coffee shop and ofcourse just getting the right rooms! Oops i forgot to add, having the nice people in the nice rooms...hehe![Oh Lord, i thank thee for them]
Ofocurse at the end of the day, its the people who make the place...
The experience of living on campus, is sumthing tht cannot be really shared thru words over actually living it, but ya..being my last year of college( or so i say)..it definitely will leave behind with me memories ill cherish for life....

Very true…Lavale stay is a very good stay for us (seniors), before entering in the industry and hectic life this is the best opportunity we got, nice weather, valley view, water falls, perfect feeling of staying on the hill station, night parties in the rooms, birthdays at 12.assignments till 3. Coffee after dinner, dogs and dogs and after everything lectures and also tests in the morning :)
We are enjoying every bit of it.
